New Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass System Debuts at Walt Disney World

Disney Guests can once again book Lightning Lane selections in advance of their vacation thanks to New Lightning Lane Multi Pass...

Disney has a brand new system in place to utilize their Lightning Lane lines and enjoy shorter wait times during your Disney vacation. For the past few years Disney has had in place the Genie+ system, now Genie+ has been replaced by the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Additionally a la cart lightning lane selections known as Individual Lightning Lanes have been replaces by Lightning Lane Single Pass. Today we are sharing everything you need to know about Disney’s new Lightning Lane Multi Pass & Lightning Lane Single Pass.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass allow you to plan ahead and reserve Lightning Lane selections for your favorite Disney World Attractions. The Lightning Lane line allows you to skip to standard queue line and can save you hours of waiting during your Disney vacation.

Here are a few highlights and helpful notes about the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass system:

  • You can select 3 experiences in advance of visit.
  • These initial 3 selections are divided into 2 tiers, you can get one selection from the top tier of high demand attractions, then the other 2 selections from the standard tier. You can also choose all 3 from this standard tier if you wish. (The only park without the tier system is Animal Kingdom)
  • As soon as you redeem your first Lightning Lane, you are eligible to book another Lightning Lane. This pattern continues all day, for every Lightning Lane you use, you can then reserve another!
  • Park-Hopping – You can park hop with this new Lightning Lane Multi Pass System. Your initial 3 Lightning Lanes all have to be in the same park, there’s NO option to book your advanced passes across multiple parks. However once you have redeemed your first Lightning Lane of the day, you can then select another Lightning Lane in another park as long as you have a valid Park Hopper option on your ticket.
  • When can you start to book Lightning Lanes? – 7am EST on first day of eligibility – Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and select affiliate hotels such as the Disney Swan & Dolphin Resorts and Shades of Green can book 7 days in advance of the first day of their vacation. All other guests not staying at a Disney Resort can book up to 3 days in advance of their park visit.
  • Disney Resort Guests can book Lightning Lanes for entire duration of their stay. 7 days out from the start date of the guest’s vacation they will be eligible to also book for all other days of the duration of their stay up to 14 days! Guests not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort can book up to 3 days before their visit.

Lightning Lane Single Pass:

In addition to the Lightning Lane Multi Pass system, the Lightning Lane Single Pass system allows guests to purchase an individual Lightning Lane for some of Disney’s most premium attractions. These attractions are not included in the Lightning Lane Multi Pass Service and are only a la cart. Here is the list of Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions by park:
