We see you took a Disney Cruise! What brought you onboard?
This March I have four families sailing on the Disney Wish and one family on the Disney Treasure. These bookings are my first on Disney Cruise Line, and I felt uncomfortable with my lack of experience not only with DCL but with cruising in general. Being able to attend this specific Agent Education Program gave me the confidence to tackle questions my clients have about DCL and give them the best advice on how to optimize their cruise experience. I not only grew my knowledge around the Disney Magic but attended training that focused on the offerings on all Disney Cruise Line ships.
How long was your trip and where did your ship travel?
My cruise was a 4 night sailing on the Disney Magic. We had two stops, one at Disney’s new private island Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and the other at Nassau, Bahamas.
Were there any special events that took place on your trip?
I was on a Halloween on the High Seas sailing of the Disney Magic. The not so scary presence of Halloween was incorporated throughout the whole ship, guests even decorated their cabin doors to match the occasion. When you entered the ship the grand foyer was transformed with the Pumpkin Tree being the centerpiece. On the first evening of the cruise, guests gathered in the Lobby Atrium for a spooky story, tree lighting, and photo opportunities. The second night has the official Halloween night with trick or treating and a party with Mickey and Friends in their Halloween costumes. That was followed by the traditional pirate night you find on most Disney cruises! I loved how the cruise guests really played into all the fun. And the kiddos were having the time of their lives. The Sanderson Sisters (Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabel) were definitely a favorite among cruise guests and made appearances a few times throughout the sailing.
Tell us about your favorite memory from the trip!
This is the toughest question. Everything from the rotational dining experiences, broadway caliber shows, unique character meets, and even the spa were highlights. However, seeing Broadway star Gail Bennet perform as Mother Gothal in Tangled and Lady Tremaine in Twice Charmed was some extra pixie dust on an already phenomenal cruise. I’m a huge musical theater fan. I also didn’t realize that Disney will invite guest performers like Gail onto their ships to perform.
What is your favorite thing about working as a Travel Agent at 407&Beyond?
Working for 407&Beyond has been better than I could have imagined. I didn’t know what to expect when I started this journey, but it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love the community of knowledgeable and talented agents that I get to work with. I get to plan vacations for clients that I know will give them immense joy and lasting core memories. And I can’t forget to mention the amazing friendships I have formed. I get choked up just thinking about it.
Provide an itinerary/quote that you would like to highlight.
My Disney Cruise Line tip is for clients to book early, even a year out, sailings do sellout and when you book early you have more stateroom options.
