Prior to my first Disney Cruise, I was surprised to find out you could BYOB onboard! This is such a great way to save money and still enjoy an adult beverage on your vacation! Disney Cruise Line has rules around bringing alcohol onto the ship and they are strictly enforced, so make sure you are prepared prior to boarding.
First, it’s important to know that luggage on a Disney Cruise is handled similarly to airplane luggage. Your larger bags will be “checked” as soon as you get to the port, and your smaller bags can be carried onto the ship with you.
Each adult, 21 and older, can bring onboard either two bottles of wine/champagne (750 ml max) OR one 6-pack of beer (12 oz max) each! The alcohol has to be in the luggage you carry onto the ship. It will be confiscated by security if you try to keep them in your checked bags.
We fly from Pittsburgh to Orlando so liquids have to be packed in your checked luggage. I found these awesome reusable travel wine bags on Amazon. So easy to use and we had no accidents from travel!
If you’re flying in like us, once you land and gather your luggage, make the quick switch from your checked bag to your carry-on (make sure you have a big enough carry-on). When you get to the port, Disney will take your checked bags right away, so make sure to do it before you arrive!
Pro Tip: Room Service on a Disney Cruise is complimentary 24 hours a day. Order the “All Hands on Deck” for a lovely fruit and cheese plate. Enjoy with your wine on your Verandah before dinner! 🍷🧀
