Beginning January 6, 2025, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will temporarily close for refurbishment at Walt Disney World. The attraction is expected to reopen in 2026. The Walt Disney Company has said that the ride will reopen “with a little bit of new magic.” Further details about the ride’s update have not been announced. While we are sad to see this attraction inoperable for such an extended period of time, we are excited to see what new additions and updates are on the way!
