What’s in your park bag?

These are just some of our must haves that may help you pack for your next park day.

For a full day in the park its hard to know what you need to make it a full day from rope drop till closing time. These are just some of our must haves that may help you pack for your next park day.

  • Book bag- for us we prefer to carry standard size bookbags. My husband and my self usually both carry one I prefer to cary one that I purchased from shopdisney.com bags that you can usually get at a discount with any purchase or by spending a certain amount.  Our girls usually carry one their own Disney themed LoungeFly mini bags. This is great for them to be able to carry items they purchase and their own water bottles so mom and dad aren’t carrying everything. Everything below is packed in one or the other Bookbags for each day in the park.
  • Sunblock, chapstick and blister balm (your thighs will thank me for it)- it is Florida and that sun and heat will get you quick.  Our go to sunblock is sun bum we love to carry the easy to apply face stick.
  • Speaking of that Florida sun- Sunglasses my absolute favorites are my Knockarounds I love how affordable they are and you can even customize a pair to match your outfit or your ears.
  • Rain coat or a poncho-Florida weather you can almost guarantee you are going to run into rain. Purchasing a poncho in the park can get expensive. Purchase a few before you leave home or carry a raincoat-this is where having a full size book bag comes in handy.  We prefer to have raincoats and love our Northface jackets they aren’t too heavy and dry quickly.
  • I can not emphasize this enough good WALKING shoes. My husband and I love our Chacos great for a full day of walking and if your feet get wet its not a huge deal they dry pretty quickly and won’t rub a blister when wet. I hate hate hate wet shoes and socks, and I can’t do the whole bag over my socks in my shoe thing. Our last trip our girls actually preferred to wear their Crocs and were as happy walking out of the park after doing 10+ miles as when we went in with no complaints of their feet hurting.
  • This one may sound a little weird but hang in there with me Zip Lock bags or water proof wet bags, we love these Disney themed ones by Bumkins. In each of our bags I pack in a gallon size bag with an extra change of clothes for each of us. This is great for those dining reservations after leaving a park and you just want to change out of your park attire. I have different sizes in my bag for food storage in case we get food and can’t finish it all, phone when it starts raining or for splash mountain (the ziplock bags they give out aren’t always available) You will find all kinds of things that you will store in these.
  • First aid supplies- Ibuprofen, Tylenol, dramamine, bandaids, mole skin (blisters ouch) there are places to purchase these items in the park however you are also paying extra as opposed to just bringing them with you.
  • Baby wipes-lets face it a Mickey Ice Cream bar vs the hot sun-the sun is gonna win every time. Great to have for a quick clean up and sticky wipe down.
  • Camera, cellphone and cell phone power bank (DON’T FORGET YOUR POWER CORD) Im all for memory maker so you don’t have to carry around your camera and worry about it getting broke. The Photo pass photographers are amazing but you may still like to have your own for snapping your own pictures through out the day. Your cellphone is a must you need it for everything!! Checking wait times, booking Lightning Lanes, mobile ordering, using Genie+; that battery will drain quick. We like to pack our own power banks we found a double pack so both of our phones could get charged if needed. Disney does have charging packs you can purchase in the park in different areas and every now and then you can find an outlet to sit and recharge not only your phone but your self as well. Disney also has charging ports on most all buses.
  • water bottles and snacks- an insulated water bottle filled to the brim with ice when you leave your resort that you can fill all day with FREE water-uhhhh yes please. Staying hydrated is key for a full day in the sun (Im sure you already knew that) Snacks (did you know Disney lets you bring in food and drinks?) some of our favorites are protein bars, fruit snacks, trail mix, granola bars, goldfish, mini muffins any little snack size item that fits nicely in your bag.

  • Ears or hats-my go to is ears, but somedays a ball cap is just the ticket especially on rainy days. Remember you will need to take that hat off on rides and sweaty hot hat hair is a look that is not a good one for me so I usually stick with the ears. There are so many ears to choose from and so many great places to get them. Disney parks have great ones however I have found that their ears after a while tend to give me a headache (ibuprofen in the bag to the rescue) I absolutely love my small shop ears that I have and I wear those more than any of my other ears. These are just a few of some of the small shops that we have ears from and love!!! These are not shops that I’m sponsored by just shops that I love with amazing creators.
